In March 2016, Deep Silver announced UK studio Sumo Digital had taken on Dead Island 2. Footage from it is popping up all over YouTube:Įurogamer has verified this build is the work of Spec Ops: The Line maker Yager, which was tasked by publisher Deep Silver with making the zombie sequel before both parties split amid creative differences in July 2015. The build, which reportedly emerged on the V board of 4Chan, is playable, although there are placeholder assets throughout. If someone had UR4 tools, could probably see what's up and edit it.People are downloading and playing a five-year-old build of Dead Island 2. Shame only 4 or 6 maps are playable, out of the 69 included cause I found it stranged too that all of them load to a void. Mabye that map is included, just sadly was wiped like the rest of the maps to fit on the download or quickly get it taken without the load. Most of the maps were revised last on that date aswell. This build is from, so it's a bit after E3. Just this one was a bit of a rushed leak. Or those maps are from a alpha / press demo and were ment as just a demo map. Mabye this is a revised version or that version wasn't included with the leak. Also look at the in-game map when you're in the LA beach level, you can see the area from the gameplay demo on it, meaning the LA beach level and the gameplay demo are supposed to be one big connected map. I still find it extremely weird that the LA world we saw in gameplay demo's with actual houses isn't in this alpha version. Had one map load for it and some test maps but sadly only SF was implemented. Everything else is broken or wiped.īP_Entry, LA and Redwood are broken. The 4 I mentioned are the only ones to contain stuff to my knowledge. Using console is the best way to skip to maps, just press ~ and type OPEN, shows ya a map list. I thought you ment like all levels for second. Originally posted by Laben_Venci:Well, I got it working. I tried the other versions they still don't work I haven't played the build in a while, mabye I'll go test it.īP_Entry, LA and Redwood are kinda broken. PB_Playground > Testroom with spawn boxes and some weapons. Still looking > Another E3 Area consisting of a beachside, not much to it. Lots of grey boxes and placeholders and its easy to crash on. Rough version of it.Ĭ_la_malibu_ow_p > A unfinished LA World. Theres about 4 levels.Ĭ_sf_p > The E3 dock level we see in promo vids. Unless that is the teleporter to that LA area i see in the videos about this build The only TP that works is the PBplayground"Īnd i think the "zombielootville" level or whatever it is called is supposed to send you back to the title screen Originally posted by dire:already did that. We may never get Dead Island 2 but atleast we got Dying Light 2 coming later on! The menus don't work correctly, the command console is the only real way to navigate into a playable state, whole buildings are missing textures/walls/ceilings and zombies sometimes straight up ignore you or adopt the T pose. but when you look a little closer at this Dead Island 2 leaked gameplay you'll see the cracks start to appear. Having a playable Dead Island 2 leak is genuinely a bizarre experience, the game runs, has missions, voiced characters & for the most part feels like a decent playable game. Playing this Dead Island 2 version is pretty straight forward and VERY unfinished but is playable somewhat.Īs for Dead Island 2, the leak is a strange thing to happen after so much time has passed, information about the game has been nonexistant for years now & development was assumed cancelled after the entire development team was removed from the project a few years back. This Dead Island 2 leaked alpha build is from June of 2015 and has mysteriously appeared online AND is available to download from the link (this link may not last long so grab it while it still works!). nz/folder/AxcUiYDB#38nncFt3A3fyrIa14jPhKg I got an link right here if anyone is interested, it's 7GB and is pretty barebones.
